MEDICAL TELEPHONE NUMBERS

I recently did a refresher first aid course, and I learnt all about the 112 emergency service number. It was pointed out to all of us on the course that in many ways this is better than the older and more well-known 999 number.

112 can be used all over Europe and in many other parts of the world, such as Australia and India. If you use your phone in a foreign country, it will automatically show that you are an English language speaker. If the phone network is overloaded with calls, 112 calls are prioritised, and if you are in an area with poor signal for your network, it will use any available network to make the call.

Also, with 112, you can pre-register to use a text message service.

I thought I should share that information. All the complementary therapists on the course with me were both surprised and impressed to learn about this, and this is information that could be useful one day.
