QUOTE FOR THE DAY

“Words exist to express ideas, once we understand the ideas we can forget the words.”

The Daoist philosopher Chuangzi taught this. Once you get his point, please forget that you read it here.

MASTER TUNG’S FOUR HORSES

I came across this new acupuncture protocol recently. It involves six acupuncture points, three on each thigh. It is named after a four-horse carriage, which is a useful metaphor for the purportedly strong and lasting effects of these points.

Dr Tung was a traditional Chinese physician from Shandong Province who was famous for miraculous and… Continue reading

SCHUMANN RESONANCE

Following on from earlier work by Nikola Tesla, the German physicist, Professor WO Schumann predicted in the mid-twentieth century that there are electrical standing waves in the atmosphere and discovered that the earth’s ionosphere produces a very specific pulsation. Cally is now 9 months old… Continue reading

What does the word “yoga” mean to you? Flexibility? Relaxation? What about “meditation” or “zen”? “Zen” originally comes from a Sanskrit word “dhyana” meaning concentration or meditation, and meditation is one of… Continue reading

ACUPUNCTURE AND MORNING SICKNESS

Almost fifty per cent of expectant women experience pregnancy-related nausea and vomiting. As most people know, the term “morning sickness” is not a particularly useful description of these symptoms which frequently occur throughout the day.

Many women chose to have acupuncture to counter the effects of morning sickness. The World Health Organisation (WHO) as far… Continue reading
